Modern Touches - Everyday Comforts
I consider myself more of a traditionalist when it comes to home decor. However, I think there is something very zen about a modern home that I can certainly appreciate. These are some items that I find almost ironically contemporary yet soothing.

Bonus Playlist - 80's Romantic Hits
Do you ever find yourself belting out Sinead O’Conner’s Nothing Compares to You in your car only to realize what you’re doing and feel completely embarrassed that you know all the words? Do you often do a drum solo on your grocery cart handle to Don’t Get Me Wrong by the Pretenders? Well I certainly do and I realized the other day that 80’s hits are everywhere and yet...

Showing a Little Skin - Badass Balenciaga Footware
Nicolas Ghesquière has done it again. I don’t have a chance at acquiring either of these extremely covetable Balenciaga shoes but, a girl can dream right?

Playlist of the Week--Roadtrip Music!
This past weekend, Lauren and I took a lovely road trip to Yosemite with some friends and a beautiful few days were had by all. This got me thinking about the ideal music for long drives, as we shifted through many different genres, CDs and radio stations through the course of our two four hour drives. Here’s a road trip compilation of sorts…

Like learning a foreign language, computer skills are often forgotten as soon as you stop using them. Since leaving school, it’s been a real challenge for me to keep up with many of the skills I learned that no longer play frequently into my day to day computer use. So, I’ve been refreshing my Adobe Creative Suites knowledge little but little using their amazing video tutorials site....

What Compels us to Collect? - The Cone Collection...
My sister and I like to joke that the bulk of our inheritance will be in the form of a substantial collection of ceramic Seagraves birds my mother has accumulated over the years that now resides atop the windowsill in my parents’ living room. Hardly lifelike with their folksy oddities and colorful exteriors, my mother saw one of these birds in an issue of Town & Country Magazine and...

Simple Wine Advice
By no means do I consider myself a wine expert. But, I do happen to be a collector of wine facts/advice. I find that the few simple items of information I do know help me navigate the ever-expanding presence wine plays in my life be it at parties, within meals, or simply the real need for a glass after a hard day. So, I decided to share a few of the tips I have picked up along the way in order to...

Paris!
I’m a very lucky gal and got to spend last weekend in Paris. Although the weather was colder than expected and even a bit rainy at times, the city’s utter beauty remained resplendent. The Parisians were nicer than usual and, most importantly, the food was delicious. We had a few standout meals, and the two restaurants that were particularly amazing were Le Comptoir and Hiramatsu.

2011 Sustainable Seafood Guide
Every morning, I walk out of my apartment, turn the corner, and relish the unbelievable view of the San Francisco Bay from atop the Pacific Heights hills. Growing up in the Midwest, the lure of the ocean was one of the deciding factors in my move to San Francisco. Since moving to the West Coast, the ocean really does have a constant presence in my day to day life. As consequence, when I learn...

Tick-the-Box Cards
I’ve had a number of reasons to buy specialty cards lately (graduation, mother’s day, thank you notes, etc.) As I’ve spent an unhealthy amount of time in Paper Source trying to pick the perfect cards, I’ve noticed that cheeky “tick-the-box” cards have been popping up and I find them really funny and easily customizable.
The card company Archelaus is the...
